New features

Audio import

You can now import custom audio and use in interactions. Either use the coupling audio effect set to custom, or use timeline event play audio action.

Improvements

New audio system

We have implemented a new environment and SFX audio system. This should resolve all issues in regards to inconsistent audio behavior when moving camera around in environment (especially RLD). No matter where you go or how you get there, the audio will play the same for that given location. (The previous system could get confused and play things differently depending on in what order areas were triggered, meaning sometimes outside sound was playing when inside, and vice versa, or no sound at all.)

Furthermore, this system also more accurately models audio dynamics, such as when going into an area that leads to the outside, the outside audio will sound like it's coming from the opening leading to the outside. Moving closer to the opening will smoothly transition the sound to be all around you and clearer.

Placing camera directly outside of music areas will correctly play muffled music audio with distance fade.

Since we have completely moved away from FMOD with this new system, it means SFX also works differently. All coupling sound assets have been changed, and the way they operate has also been changed. Be sure to explore it to hear the differences!

Parts and Appendages are now organized in folders

Custom offset exports can now include user expressions

Audio source node selection

Nodes now includes root object name in audio source selection. (I.e. instead of seeing "Pelvis", you see "CharacterName→Pelvis".)

  • Audio can now be played without selecting a node.
    • (Audio will then be played with spatial blend set to 0.)
  • Increased base Audio SFX volume by 10 dB.
  • Removed "Debug" object in character creator.
  • You can now rename Coupling Audio Event.
  • Default TimelineEventActionPlayAudio volume is now 0.5 (down from 1.0).
  • Cum event default pulses is now 1 (down from 4).

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where snapping masks to end point of bones caused app state corruption.
  • Fixed an issue where masks wouldn't snap properly to bone end points.
  • Fixed an issue where jumping into pose mode directly from fur removal mask caused issues.
  • Fixed an issue where dragging and then releasing slider outside of slide area would prevent history from being recorded or any keyframes from being created.
  • Fixed an issue where skeleton wouldn't reset properly after leaving physical chain in character creator.
  • Fixed an issue where loading a new character while in physical part editing, and then entering physical part editing in the new character would cause app state corruption.
  • Fixed bad blending of color (due to corrupted UV2) on Mink head.
  • Fixed an issue where timeline events wouldn't fire sometimes for timelines with short duration.
  • Fixed an issue where clothing fur removal mask wouldn't work properly in seams.
  • Fixed an issue where fur cover wouldn't be baked properly in some circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue where sub part mirrors wouldn't get colliders.
  • Fixed an issue where switching between clothing shapes could cause clothes to be incorrectly hidden.
